Wairarapa is a geographical region of New Zealand.

It occupies the part southeast of the North Island, east of Wellington city, and south-west of the Hawke's Bay. Its name comes from the large lake Wairarapa.

Agricultural industries, with forests, crops, sheep, flocks of cattle and dairy cows are a major economic resource in the region, with deer farming, gaining momentum, growing olive trees, the lavender and nuts, and fishing off the coast of Cape Palliser and Ngawi.
